IIT-Mandi signs MoU with Chhattisgarh Vivekanand Technical University for academic, research collaboration

The Indian Institute of Technology-Mandi has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekanand Technical University, Bhilai, to foster academic and research collaboration.
The MoU was formalised through a signing ceremony on March 26, 2024, with Prof MK Verma, Vice-Chancellor of Chhattisgarh Vivekanand Technical University, Bhilai, and Prof Laxmidhar Behera, Director of IIT-Mandi, signing the agreement.
Speaking on this occasion, Kumar Sambhav Pandey, Registrar, IIT-Mandi, said, “In line with its commitment to fostering excellence through collaboration, IIT-Mandi continues to actively seek partnerships with esteemed institutions such as Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekanand Technical University, Bhilai. By nurturing a culture of collaboration, the IIT-Mandi aims to contribute significantly to the advancement of science, technology and society.”
Under this MoU, the IIT-Mandi and Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekanand Technical University will facilitate visits of faculty and staff members between the institutions for the exchange of scientific knowledge and information.
Additionally, the MoU paves the way for the establishment of joint postdoctoral and PhD programs, fostering academic and research excellence through collaborative supervision. Both institutions will also grant access to their research facilities as per mutually agreed terms.
Furthermore, the collaboration will encompass joint research initiatives, including participation in nationally and internationally funded projects. It will also facilitate joint activities such as seminars, workshops, conferences, and training programs, offering students exposure to the facilities and resources available at both institutions.
