ICSE, ISC result 2024: 99.47% students pass Class 10 exam, 98.19% Class 12

The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) has declared the much-awaited ICSE, ISC results 2024 for Class 10 and Class 12 on Monday (May 6, 2024).
According to the council, the pass percentage of ICSE, ISC results 2024 stands at an impressive 99.47% for Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (Class 10) and 98.19% for the Indian School Certificate (Class 12).
Candidates can now access their scorecards through multiple platforms, including the board’s official website, the careers portal and DigiLocker. The CISCE has decided to discontinue compartment examinations for both ICSE and ISC from 2024 onwards. Instead, it has introduced improvement exams for candidates who fail to clear the tests, scheduled to take place in July.
Girls outshine boys again
In a trend that continues from previous years, female students have outperformed their male counterparts in both ICSE and ISC examinations. The pass percentage for girls in ICSE stands at 99.65%, surpassing the 99.31% pass rate for boys.
Similarly, in ISC exams, girls achieved a pass percentage of 98.92%, while boys recorded a pass rate of 97.53%. This echoes last year’s statistics where girls dominated in both Class 10 and Class 12.
The ICSE and ISC examinations, which commenced on February 21, were originally slated to conclude on April 3. However, due to rescheduling, the exams extended until April 4, with the Chemistry paper for Class 12 postponed from February 26 to March 21.
Regionally, the ISC examination witnessed the highest number of candidates from the Northern region, totaling 45,993 students, constituting 46.27% of the total candidates. This region encompasses states such as Chandigarh, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, New Delhi & NCR, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
In contrast, the Southern region boasted an impressive success rate of 99.53% in the ISC exam, covering states such as Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and the union territories of Lakshadweep and Puducherry.
