MANDI: Rakhsha Kumari (24) from Bhadrori Jamni in Sarkaghat subdivision of Mandi district in Himachal Pradesh, has become a Nursing Lieutenant in the Army, the accomplishment sparking a wave of joy throughout the region.
Gets posting in Punjab’s Ferozepur
Rakhsha has been selected for the Army Nursing Services and has got her first posting at 159 General Hospital, Ferozepur, Punjab. She is scheduled to commence her duties by September 16.
She completed her Class 10 and 12 at the Government Senior Secondary School at Jamni. She then pursued General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) training at the Zonal Hospital, Mandi. Furthering her education, she earned her BSc Nursing degree from Saraswati Nursing Institute, Dhyampura, Kurali, Punjab.

Credits her family for support
Rakhsha Kumari has attributed her success to her father Balwant Singh, a driver with the Himachal Road Transport Corporation’s (HRTC) Rohru depot (Shimla), and mother Satyadevi, a homemaker, for their unwavering encouragement and support. Her grandfather Het Ram, a retired Junior Engineer from the IPH department, and her uncle Manohar Lal, an IPH department employee, also played a crucial role in her achievement.
Rakhsha Kumari expressed her delight at becoming a Nursing Lieutenant and is determined to provide exceptional service in the Army.
