DHARAMSHALA: The five-day winter session of the Himachal Pradesh Assembly began at 11 am on Tuesday (December 19, 2023) at Tapovan in Dharamshala.
This is the fourth session of the 14th Assembly in Tapovan. The session will run from December 19 to 23. In the beginning, Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania appealed to all members for “constructive cooperation” in the running of the House. After this, the proceedings of the House started with the national anthem.
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu introduced in the House the inclusion of Rajesh Dharmani and Yadvinder Goma in the cabinet. He said it was for the first time in 75 years of Independence that a Dalit face from Kangra district had go a ministerial berth.
After this, obituary references started as condolence was expressed on the demise of the late Assembly members. A condolence resolution was presented in the House on the demise of former Chamba MLA Balkrishan Chauhan.
CM Sukhu, Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur participated in the discussion on the condolence motion.
