House gutted in Prayungal village in Himachal’s Chamba distt

5 cattle, 12 goats, 1 sheep burnt

Chamba:A house and a cow shed were gutted in Prayungal village in Himachal’s Chamba district on Thursday morning at about 10. Twelve goats, 3 Jersey cows, 2 oxen and a sheep were burnt.
The family was out for work after breakfast when the fire broke out.

Saluni sub-division SDM Naveen Sharma and Saluni tehsildar Vinod Kumar Tandon reached the spot to assess the damage and pay interim financial relief to the victims.
Residents had seen smoke billowing from the home belonging to Sunich Kumar and Prithvi and rushed to the spot to douse the fire.
The fire brigade officials were alerted in Saluni, 28 km from the village.
By the time the fire tenders reached and tried to douse the fire, the two-room house and the cow shed were gutted.
