CM Jai Ram Thakur discusses wide-ranging issues with Modi

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on Saturday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and held discussions on a wide range of issues pertaining to the state.
Earlier, The CM had met Union Cabinet minister Anurag Thakur to congratulate him on his elevation.
Ministers’ report card
Highly placed sources in the BJP here said that discussions were held on the performance of the state’s ministers. A report regarding the work done by them had been submitted to the PM.
Candidates for bypolls
Another issue that was up for discussion was related to the choice of party candidates for the impending Mandi Lok Sabha seat bypoll and three assembly bypolls.
Vaccination progress
The CM shared with the PM information on the progress of vaccination against Corona in the state. The PM is said to have praised the efforts of the state government in meeting the vaccination targets.
PM’s sanction sought
The CM urged the PM to sanction finances for the proposed tourism infrastructure development project, documents regarding which had been submitted to the Union government. Chief resident commissioner Sushil Kumar Singla and deputy resident commissioner Pankaj Sharma were present on the occasion.
Invitation extended to the PM
The CM extended an invitation to the PM to visit the state to inaugurate the 111-megawatt capacity Savda-Kuddu hydel project and lay the foundation stones of the 210-megawatt Luhri stage 1 project of Sutlej Hydel Power Corporation and 66-megawatt Dhaulasiddh project.
Bulk drug park
Jai Ram Thakur urged the PM to sanction the proposed bulk drug and medical devices park in the state. Thakur also sought financial help for the proposed airport in Nagchala of Mandi district to strengthen air connectivity.
