The dream of the people of Himachal’s Pangi tribal sub-division to connect directly with the district headquarters Chamba through a road is about to come true after about nine months.
The movement of vehicles is expected to start on the Killar-Chamba via Sach Pass road, which passes at a height of about 14,500 feet, by Sunday or Monday morning.
Public Works Department, Pangi division has almost completed the work of removing snow from Sach Pass road. With the commencement of the movement of vehicles on this route, the people of Pangi will not have to travel a long distance of 750 kilometers via Kullu or Jammu to reach Chamba.
The Sach Pass road is the easiest and shortest way for the people of Pangi to reach the district headquarters.
This time, due to the non-stop snowfall on the Sach Pass road till the month of May, the work of restoring the traffic by removing the snow has not been completed yet. The Public Works Department has been doing the work on a war footing for the restoration of traffic by removing frozen snow on the Sach Pass road.
Pangi mandal PWD executive engineer Man Singh Sharma said that the work of removing snow from the Sach Pass road is almost complete.
