Palampur
It is hard to imagine some kid from Himachal mastering the art of Kalaripayattu, an Indian martial art that originated in Kerala, let alone win a medal in a national competition.
Palampur’s Harshil did the impossible and made Himachal proud by bagging a bronze medal in this sport. So far no sportsperson from Himachal had won a medal in this sport.
The Kalaripayattu Martial Art National Competition was held in Kerala from August 11 to August 13. Harshil and Aishwarya from Himachal had taken part in this competition.
Earlier, in 2021, Harshil had performed very well in the Khelo India held at Panchkula. His performance was also good in the 2022 Khelo India held in Madhya Pradesh.
Anupam Mehra, president of the Himachal Pradesh Kalaripayattu Association, congratulated Harshil and said that sportspersons from 25 states had participated in the national competition.
