Mandi: Anurag Thakur, Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting and Youth Affairs and Sports, on Monday lauded the transformative initiatives of the Modi government, emphasizing its commitment to uplifting every section of society.

Speaking on the occasion of Tridev Sammelan in Dharampur constituency of Mandi district, he highlighted schemes such as the Kisan Samman Yojna for farmers, Ujjwala scheme for women’s empowerment, and Mudra Yojana for youth empowerment, showcasing the government’s inclusive approach.

Highlighting the remarkable strides made by the Indian economy under the leadership of Prime Minister, Thakur underscored India’s ascent to becoming the fifth-largest economy globally. He also reiterated the government’s dedication to further bolstering the economy, expressing confidence in India’s potential to ascent to the third position globally.

Amidst accolades for the Central government’s initiatives, Thakur didn’t shy away from critiquing the state’s Congress government, citing its failure to fulfill promises and its resort to populist measures ahead of elections.

Echoing Thakur’s sentiments, Rajat Thakur, emphasized the need to hold accountable the ineffective governance of the state Congress. He urged for a decisive response to the hollow promises made by the opposition party.

Earlier Anurag Thakur, donning a helmet, participated in a bike rally from Avahadevi to Tihera. He was joined by Rajat Thakur, as a pillion. Both of them led the youth, advocating for road safety and responsible driving.

Anurag Thakur distributed free helmets to encourage safe biking practices among the youth. Additionally, addressing a long-standing demand, he inaugurated the Punjab National Bank branch in Tihera.

Mandal president Lekhram Thakur, general secretary Surendra Sakalani, Vinod Thakur, Yash Pathania, and Vandana Guleria, were present on the occasion along with various panchayat heads, elected representatives, and community leaders.
