rain forecast weather

DHARAMSHALA: Himachal Pradesh is gearing up for a change in weather pattern as a western disturbance is predicted to influence the region and bring rainfall across several districts.
According to the Meteorological Centre, Shimla, from June 4 to 6, several parts of Himachal are expected to experience rainfall. On June 7, rain may occur in one or two locations in the middle and high mountains. However, June 8 and 9 have been forecasted to be clear days.

Even on Monday (June 3, 2024), some areas may experience adverse weather conditions, with light clouds spotted in surrounding regions, including the capital Shimla.
Temperatures have soared in the plains and lower-altitude areas of the state. On Sunday, a heatwave persisted in seven districts, including Una, Hamirpur, Bilaspur, Solan, Kangra, Mandi and Sirmaur, causing discomfort to residents. A yellow alert for a heatwave has been issued for these areas today as well.

The prolonged dry weather has led to drying up of crops in the state, leaving farmers worried. However, the anticipated change in weather offers a glimmer of relief from the prevailing heatwave. In light of the extreme temperatures, the summer vacation for all schools in Una and Sirmaur has been extended by two days. Previously, holidays were scheduled from May 29 to June 2 in several areas across the state. As per the directive of the local administration, the schools will now resume classes on June 5.
