Himachal weather update: Light rain, snow predicted in isolated parts today; day temperature in Keylong alarmingly 13.4 degrees above normal

SHIMLA: With the change in weather in Himachal Pradesh and the sky being cloudy, there may be light rain and snowfall at some places on Saturday (January 13, 2024). The weather in the state had earlier been predicted to change from January 16.
According to the Meteorological Department, due to a fresh western disturbance, there may be light rain and snowfall on January 16 and 17.
There is a possibility of decrease in temperature in the state on Saturday due to the cloudy sky even as the temperature had been increasing in the state for the last few days. Generally, the temperature remains low in winter but due to clear weather and bright sunshine, the temperature has increased unusually even in the mountains. The day temperature in the state is quite high at most places.
In tribal areas, the temperature in Keylong is 13.4 degrees above normal and in Kalpa it is 9.4 degrees above normal. Similarly, the maximum temperature in Queen of Hills Shimla is also 8.5 degrees higher. The temperature in Solan is 8.1 degrees above normal, while in Bhuntar it is 7.2 degrees. The day temperature was recorded above normal by 5.9 degrees in Sundernagar, 5.4 degrees in Dharamshala, 5.8 degrees in Manali, 5 degrees in Kangra and 5.7 degrees Celsius in Dalhousie.
In the last 24 hours, the maximum temperature recorded in Shimla was 19.4 degrees Celsius while it was 23.3 degrees Celsius in Sundernagar, 22.9 degrees in Bhuntar, 15 degrees in Kalpa, 21 degrees in Dharamshala, 8.4 degrees in Keylong, 26.5 degrees in Solan, 16.8 degrees in Manali and 17.7 degrees Celsius in Dalhousie.
Not only this, the night temperature is also abnormally high at many places. The minimum temperature in Shimla has been recorded at 9 degrees Celsius, which is 6.3 degrees more than normal. Similarly, the temperature in Bhuntar was 3.8 degrees above normal and was recorded at 5.1 degrees. Similarly, the temperature in Sundernagar was 3.6 degrees, which is 1.2 degrees more than normal. The minimum temperature has been recorded at 3.8 degrees in Kalpa and 0.2 degrees in Keylong. The minimum temperature in Dharamshala has been recorded at 9.2 degrees while it’s 0.3 degrees Celsius in Samadho and 0.9 degrees Celsius in Kukumseri.
