With widespread rains continuing in different parts of Himachal Pradesh, two persons were killed while seven others were injured in landslide-related incidents.
One person was killed while five others sustained injuries after boulders fell on a vehicle on the Tundi-Baneta road in Sihunta subdivision of Chamba district. The deceased was identified as Karnail Singh of Jhuled village in Sihunta subdivision of Chamba district. The injured have been identified as Shakuntala Devi, Kaku Ram, Onkar Singh, Surender Singh and Chotu Ram.
In another landslide incident at Chuli in Dadahu area of Sirmaur district, one person was killed and two others sustained injuries. The deceased was identified as Surinder Singh of Chuli village in Dadahu. The injured, Lila Devi and Parikshit, have been rushed to Nahan hospital.
It has been raining continuously for past more than 12 hours in several parts of the state, including in Shimla, Kullu and Mandi districts.
The rains wreaked havoc in several parts, triggering flash floods and landslides in Kullu, Chamba, Sirmaur, Shimla and Lahaul-Spiti districts.
More than 100 vehicles were stranded for several hours at Manjuri near Gharatnala in Chamba district. The commuters were on their way to Manimahesh for the famous pilgrimage.
Several incidents of landslides were reported on Shancher road near Manu Rishi temple in Banjar (Kullu). The national highway-5 was blocked due to landslide in Lahaul-Spiti. A flash flood occurred at Chhota Dharra in Spiti.
