Himachal weather: Orange alert for heavy rain in 8 districts on these 2 days

Himachal Pradesh has been issued a heavy rain alert for the next four days, according to the Meteorological Centre in Shimla. The conditions are favourable for the advance of the monsoon in some parts of the state within the next three-three days. Continuous rain is expected until July 3, with a significant increase in rainfall starting June 28. Scattered rain has been forecast for most districts during this period.
A yellow alert for heavy rain has been issued for June 28 and July 1, while an orange alert is in effect for June 29 and 30. Even today, some areas of the state, including Shimla and many parts of Kangra district, experienced rainfall. The weather remains unfavourable in Shimla where it rained in the morning.
The weather department has issued heavy rain alerts for Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Chamba, Kangra, Mandi, Shimla, Solan and Sirmaur districts from June 28 to 30, with the heaviest rains expected on June 29 and 30. Strong winds with speeds of 40 to 50 km per hour are likely in the lower and central hilly districts. Average minimum and maximum temperatures are expected to be below normal during this period.
The residents have been advised to avoid travelling during heavy rain, take safe shelter, avoid sheltering under trees, unplug electrical and electronic devices and follow any traffic and safety advisories issued. People have also been advised to stay away from rivers and streams.
Over the last 24 hours, several areas recorded significant rainfall: Rohru (24 mm), Jot (23 mm), Kangra (20.8 mm), Palampur (19.6 mm), Una (14.4 mm), Dehra Gopipur (14.3 mm), Bharadi (12.6 mm), Sarahan (12 mm), Solan (9.6 mm), Kandaghat (8.8 mm), Jogindernagar (7 mm) and Baijnath (6 mm).
