Himachal weather likely to stay clear for 6 days, snow provides much-needed boost to tourism, horticulture sectors

SHIMLA: The Meteorological Centre in Shimla has announced a welcome relief for residents and tourists alike in Himachal Pradesh as clear skies are expected to prevail for the next six days, providing respite from the biting cold that has gripped the region. The increase in temperature, courtesy the sunshine, has brought some relief to the people who have been enduring the chilly weather.

According to the forecast issued by the Meteorological Centre in Shimla, all parts of the state are expected to experience dry weather until February 16. Over the last 24 hours, the average maximum temperature has remained above normal, while there has been no significant change in the minimum temperature, which has also remained below normal.

The recent snowfall has not only delighted tourists but has also provided a boost to the tourism, agriculture and horticulture sectors. Furthermore, it has opened the doors to winter sports, including state and national competitions, across the region. Enthusiastic skiers are currently showcasing their skills at Manali’s renowned Solang Nullah ski slope. Local skiers are taking full advantage of the snow-clad slopes, honing their abilities and enjoying the exhilarating sport of skiing.

The minimum temperatures recorded across various locations in Himachal Pradesh are as follows: Shimla 2.5°C, Sundernagar 1.8°C, Bhuntar 1.2°C, Kalpa -2°C, Dharamshala 5.2°C, Una 2.7°C, Nahan 8.3°C, Palampur 2°C, Solan 2.3°C, Manali 0.4°C, Kangra 3.4°C, Mandi 2.5°C, Bilaspur 4.1°C, Chamba 3.8°C, Jubbarhatti 4°C, Kufri 1.5°C, Kukumseri -10.6°C, Narkanda -0.5°C, Bharmour 2.2°C, Rekongpeo 0.5°C, Seobagh 0.5°C, Dhaulakuan 7.6°C, Barthin 1.9°C, Samdo -8.2°C, Paonta 7°C, Sarahan 1.5°C and Dehragopipur recorded 10°C.

The clear weather forecast coupled with the favourable conditions for winter sports is expected to attract more visitors to the region, boosting the local economy and providing ample opportunities for adventure enthusiasts.
