Himachal university student dies after falling from hostel building

SHIMLA: A student from Kinnaur lost his life after falling from the third floor of the Shaheed Bhagat Singh hostel at Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) in Summer Hill.
The deceased, Akhil, was a first-semester LLB student at the university. The incident reportedly occurred late last night. Upon receiving information, Akhil was immediately rushed to a hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival. HPU’s chief warden RL Jinda confirmed the incident.
A post-mortem is being conducted at Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC) in Shimla, following which the body will be handed over to the family. The chief warden, along with other university staff, is currently at the IGMC. A further investigation is underway to determine the exact circumstances leading to the fall.
