Himachal releases selection list for 1,122 JBT teachers

The Himachal Pradesh Directorate of Elementary Education has announced the selection list of candidates for the posts of junior basic training (JBT) teachers based on counselling. The counselling for batch-wise recruitment of JBT teachers on a contractual basis was conducted by the department in November 2023.
The selection of candidates for JBT positions has been made based on merit within the respective districts, taking into account the preferences provided by the candidates for the districts. Appointment orders for the selected candidates are being issued separately by the Deputy Directors of Elementary Education of the respective districts.

According to the directorate, results have been declared for 1,122 candidates of the total 1,161 positions advertised on October 11, 2023. Due to lack of suitable candidates, 10 positions (2 OBC WFF and 8 SC WFF) could not be filled. Additionally, the results for 29 positions (13 unreserved, 6 EWS, 6 SC, 1 SC BPL, 2 OBC, and 1 ST) have been withheld in light of the orders from the Himachal Pradesh High Court in CWP No. 9043 of 2023 and CWP Nos. 9032 and 9035 of 2023.
The directorate has stated that while every precaution has been taken in preparing the results, the possibility of inadvertent or technical errors cannot be ruled out. The Director of Elementary Education reserves the right to make corrections at any time.
Selected candidates are advised to contact the office of the Deputy Director of Elementary Education in their respective districts for appointment orders and further information.
