Kangra district, known as the political capital of Himachal Pradesh, is set to play a crucial role in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
With a total of 1,412 polling stations, including 120 in urban areas and 1,292 in rural areas, Kangra is one of the key districts in the state.
In the previous Vidhan Sabha elections held in 2022, Kangra district had a total 13,34,542 voters, of whom 9,68,575 exercised their franchise, resulting in an impressive voter turnout of 72.58%.
This election will also mark the debut of young voters aged 18 to 19 in the Lok Sabha polls. Kangra district boasts a significant number of first-time voters, with 6,775 males and 3,666 females eligible to cast their votes. The total number of electors in the district stands at 13,07,167, including 6,58,248 males, 6,48,915 females, and four third-gender voters.
The political landscape in Kangra is expected to witness intense campaigning as political parties vie for the support of the electorate in this crucial district.
