Himachal Pradesh University mandates AICTE approval for new batches in management, computer application courses

Dharamshala: Himachal Pradesh University has issued directives to all affiliated institutions running management and computer application courses to obtain approval from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) for commencing new batches in the upcoming academic session.
The instructions, issued by the University’s Registrar, follow orders from Prof T G Sitharam, Chairman of the AICTE.
According to the communication, institutions conducting BBA, BCA, and MCA courses are mandated to seek approval from the AICTE. The University has uploaded notifications on its website, aligning with the orders issued by AICTE.
These courses are being run in the University’s campus and its affiliated management and computer institutions and colleges across the state. Most prominent colleges in the state offer courses like BCA, while some also provide BBA courses. All these institutions need to seek approval from AICTE before starting the new academic session.
HP University to Implement Academic Bank of Credit from Session 2024
In adherence to the decision made during the Executive Council meeting on December 23, 2023, Himachal Pradesh University will implement the Academic Bank of Credit for all UG, PG, degree, and diploma courses. The announcement was made by Dr Veerendra Sharma, the Registrar of the University.
As per the notification, each student enrolled in the new academic session in affiliated colleges, HPU campus, and its institutions will have an Academic Bank of Credit account. They will be provided with online user IDs and passwords, allowing them to view and download their academic records online. The University has been working towards implementing this new facility effectively, with technical and academic committees formed at the university level for the purpose. The move aligns with the special attention given to it in the National Education Policy.
