Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu called on President Droupadi Murmu at the Rashtrapati Bhawan in New Delhi on Monday.
It was a courtesy call and the first meeting of the Chief Minister with the President of India after taking charge of the top post in Himachal Pradesh more than a month ago. The Chief Minister enquired the well-being of the President and wished her well for the future.
The meeting with the President came after the Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister called on Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar in New Delhi a short while ago. It was a courtesy call and the first meeting of Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu with the Vice President of India.
The Chief Minister had left for Delhi from Shimla on Sunday to meet top dignitaries, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Murmu and Vice President Dhankhar.
Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu is also slated to meet the Prime Minister on Monday or Tuesday. The Himachal Chief Minister’s office had sought time to meet the trio, confirmed the Chief Minister. Sukhu was scheduled to meet the Prime Minister on December 19 after becoming the Chief Minister, but he was found positive in the Covid-19 test, which was conducted as per protocol before the meeting. The Chief Minister said that he would not raise any issue related to the state during the meeting with the Prime Minister as it was only a courtesy call.
