Dharamshala: A raid conducted in Gwal Primary School under Baijnath Police Station’s jurisdiction resulted in the confiscation of 225 crates of Indian-made foreign liquor and 5 crates of country liquor.
Acting on information received, the police, accompanied by the Baijnath SHO and local panchayat head, raided the location. The illicit liquor, valued at around Rs 1.5 million, was discovered in a closed building that once housed the primary school.
The accused, identified as Ajay Kumar from Bairee village in Mandi district, is currently under investigation. Authorities have initiated the process of sampling the seized liquor for lab analysis. Additionally, they will inform relevant departments about the discovery in a government school’s abandoned premises.
As investigations progress, authorities aim to determine the origin and transportation of the illegal liquor. They also intend to probe further for potential involvement of other individuals, considering the ongoing election process and adherence to the Model Code of Conduct.
