Himachal Pradesh, with its breathtaking landscapes and rich cultural heritage, holds immense potential for luxury tourism. With the right strategies and dedication, the state can make significant strides in the sector.
To develop luxury tourism, it’s crucial to identify the state’s unique selling points and leverage them to attract high-end travellers. Known for its stunning natural beauty, vibrant traditions and thrilling adventure sports, Himachal Pradesh can craft exclusive, upscale experiences that blend these elements. By doing so, the state can carve out a niche market, positioning itself as a premier destination for luxury and experiential travel.
In this direction, Nakul Khullar, an orchardist and hotelier, is leading by example in the Manali area by partnering with the world’s strongest hotel brand, IHCL (the Taj Group). Through a joint venture, they have developed two premium properties: Baragarh Resort and Ramgarh Heritage Villa (Ama Stay & Trails by the Taj Group).

A key approach to advancing luxury tourism in Himachal Pradesh is the development of high-end resorts and hotels that offer exclusive experiences. These can include spa treatments featuring local herbs, gourmet cuisine using locally sourced produce and curated tours of the region’s cultural and natural landmarks.
Moreover, luxury adventure sports like heli-skiing and paragliding can be promoted to create a sense of exclusivity, attracting discerning travellers seeking both relaxation and adventure in this picturesque state.
By prioritising luxury tourism development, Himachal Pradesh has the potential to make substantial contributions to its economy while preserving its rich natural and cultural heritage. This approach not only attracts high-end travellers but also ensures sustainable growth for the region.
I am truly overwhelmed by the exceptional hospitality of Anil Khullar and Nakul Khullar. It was truly the best hospitality experience, showcasing attention to detail and warm, personalised service. Their properties have hosted an impressive array of guests, from national politicians and religious gurus to Bollywood and South Indian celebrities.
Their guestbook reads like a who’s who of prominent figures, a testament to their commitment to luxury and personalised service.
