SHIMLA: The issue of denotifying of institutions opened during the previous BJP regime was raised again during the question hour on the second day of the Himachal Pradesh Assembly’s monsoon session in Shimla on Tuesday (September 19, 2023).
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur came face to face over the closure and denotification of institutions and offices.
Heated exchanges were seen between the ruling Congress and the opposition BJP on a question by Nahan Congress MLA Ajay Solanki.
Dissatisfied with the CM’s reply on closing of institutes, the opposition leader reacted strongly saying, “Closing of institutions in the state in itself is a kind of disaster. By closing institutes, Himachal’s has been sent 10 years back in terms of development.”
Jai Ram alleged that CM Sukhu was closing old institutes and then reopening these in his own name.
Leader of Opposition asked that any MLA who did not want an institute in his Assembly constituency should give related information in writing in the House.
