New Delhi: The Himachal Mandapam at the India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2024, being held at Pragati Maidan from November 14 to 27, was inaugurated today by Chief Residential Commissioner of Himachal Pradesh, Meera Mohanty. The Mandapam showcases a wide variety of authentic Himachali products, attracting significant attention from visitors this year.
Director of Himachal Mandapam, Gyan Singh Chauhan, informed that the Mandapam features 16 stalls exclusively showcasing Himachali products. These include handloom and handicraft items, fruit products, and special local delicacies such as Kangra tea, apple chips, dry Gucchi mushrooms, seabuckthorn, and kidney rajma (kidney beans), all of which are drawing great interest from the attendees.
The Mandapam has become a hotspot for those eager to experience Himachal’s unique and quality products. In addition to the aforementioned items, the Him-Era and Jai Mahasu Devta Self-Help Group are also presenting herbal soaps, oils, and other natural products made from Himachal Pradesh’s indigenous herbs. One of the highlights of the Mandapam is the display of pure mountain ghee, which has attracted a lot of attention from visitors interested in traditional and natural products.
The Mandapam not only serves as a platform to display Himachali products but also provides an avenue for business networking. The Industry Department’s camp office within the Mandapam is actively facilitating business connections and promoting these products for larger markets.
Chauhan expressed optimism that the footfall at the Himachal Mandapam would increase over the coming days. He anticipates a strong business flow for the products on display, along with a boost in branding and networking opportunities, which will help in further elevating the state’s industrial and craft profile on the national stage.
The Himachal Mandapam at IITF 2024 is already proving to be a significant platform for promoting the state’s rich heritage, craftsmanship, and natural products, marking an important step in enhancing the visibility of Himachali products on a global scale.
