The current devastation that Himachal Pradesh is witnessing is nothing new for people living in this hill state. Of course this year, due to a record-breaking rainfall so far, the devastation has been more extensive. The latest being the landslide near Nyugalseri in Kinnaur district on August 11 in which 13 persons have been killed as on August 12 even as search and rescue operation is on for remaining passengers of an HRTC bus that got buried in the debris along with a Tata Sumo and other cars.

July 25, 2021 – Rockslide from the hills of Batseri in Kinnaur district killed 9 tourists.
July 12, 2021 – 10 killed as homes buried in debris following a landslide in Rulehad village, Shahpur sub-division, Kangra district.
August 12, 2017 – 49 killed on Pathankot-Mandi national highway 154. Two buses and other vehicles were buried in debris after a portion of the hill collapsed in the night at Kotropi.
July 23, 2015 – 23 killed as bus falls in Parvati river after being hit by falling rocks in Kullu district.
August 18, 2015 – 8 killed as rockslide hits Gurdwara Sahib in Manikarn, Kullu district.
August 18, 2010 – 45 people travelling in a truck were killed. The truck fell in a gorge after being hit by a landslide in Hatnala village, Balh sub-division of Mandi district.
