Himachal govt shifts 29 HAS officers in major bureaucratic reshuffle

Shimla: In a major administrative reshuffle, the Himachal Pradesh government has transferred 29 Himachal Administrative Services (HAS) officers, including 12 Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs).
The reshuffle is seen as part of the government’s efforts to streamline administrative efficiency and reinforce governance in crucial departments.
The transfer orders were released by the Chief Secretary, with officers being appointed to various key posts across the state.
Jitender Sanjta has been given charge as the Additional Director in the SC, OBC and Minority Empowerment Department, while Sushma Vats has been made Secretary in the Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Commission. Neeraj Gupta takes over as Additional Director at IGMC-Shimla, one of the state’s premier medical institutions.

Other prominent transfers include Rakesh Kumar Sharma as Additional Commissioner to the Deputy Commissioner in Hamirpur and Isha being appointed as Executive Director in the State Electricity Board. These changes are expected to bring fresh leadership to sectors that play vital roles in the state’s infrastructure and governance.
In the Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission, Chhavi Nainta has been appointed as Joint Secretary, while Pooja Chauhan will take over as the General Manager for the Dharamshala Smart City project. Several SDMs have also been shifted to new locations. Surendra Mohan will now serve as SDM-Kumarsain, Smritika as SDM-Balh and Amar Negi as SDM-Sundernagar.
Other key appointments include Shashi Pal Sharma as SDM-Bhoranj, Priyanka as SDM-Pachhad and Vikas Sharma, who has been promoted to Additional Commissioner in Palampur. Vivek Sharma will serve as Additional Commissioner to the Deputy Commissioner in Nahan, while Gaurav Mahajan has been named Additional Commissioner to the Deputy Commissioner in Solan. Sanjay Kumar has been appointed General Manager in the Skill Development Corporation.
The municipal corporations also saw some new appointments with Bhuwan Sharma being assigned as Joint Commissioner for Municipal Corporation in Shimla and Vimla Devi as Joint Commissioner for Municipal Corporation in Solan. Mayank Sharma has been named Deputy Resident in New Delhi, a crucial post that serves as a liaison for the state government in the national capital.
Other notable transfers include Salim as SDM-Dhira, Arshiya Sharma as SDM-Bali Chowki, and Shikha as SDM-Kaza. Kulwant Singh has been appointed SDM-Rajgarh, Girish as Joint Director at the Revenue Training Institute in Jogindernagar, and Rajiv Kumar Sankhyan as SDM-Nahan.
Mohanlal takes over as SDM-Kotkhai, Rajkumar as SDM-Nalagarh and Narendra Singh as RTO in the Inspection Squad for Kangra district.
