Shimla: In recognition of their exceptional contributions to education, 27 teachers from across Himachal Pradesh will be honoured with state-level teacher awards at a ceremony scheduled to be held at Raj Bhavan in Shimla on Thursday (September 5, 2024).
The list of awardees was officially released late Tuesday evening. On the occasion of Teachers’ Day, the Governor of Himachal Pradesh, Shiv Pratap Shukla, will preside over the event and present the awards to the selected teachers. Among the teachers, 13 are from the general areas of the state and five from remote and tribal regions.
No teacher eligible from two districts
This year, the selection of teachers for the state-level awards followed a newly implemented process. The selection committee, headed by the Education Secretary, evaluated candidates through a rigorous interview process. Additionally, the committee conducted site visits to gather comprehensive information about the achievements of applicants. The evaluation also included assessing the performance of students taught by these teachers, ensuring that the awards recognise not just teaching skills but also educational outcomes.
