Himachal govt invites applications from hoteliers, travel agents for participating in Gandhinagar tourism fair

The Himachal Pradesh Directorate of Tourism and Civil Aviation has sought applications from the members of various hotel associations and travel agent unions to participate in a Travel and Tourism Fair in Gujarat capital Gandhinagar from August 7 to 9, 2024.
In a written communique, the Joint Director of the Himachal Pradesh Directorate of Tourism and Civil Aviation (Shimla) has asked the District Tourism Development Officers (DTDOs) and Additional Tourism Development Officers (ATDOs) to inform all hotel associations and travel agent unions under their jurisdiction about the fairs.
Consent has been sought from those willing to participate. The department will allot an area of 4 sq metres to each interested applicant at the fair site at a cost of Rs 51,000.
The confirmation along with a bank draft in favour of the Director, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Shimla; an application regarding the fair they want to participate in and a copy of registration of the tourism unit and travel agency, etc, must reach the office of the Joint Director of the Himachal Pradesh Directorate of Tourism and Civil Aviation (Shimla) seven days before the start of the fair. In all, 60 applications will be entertained, the criterion being first-come-first-serve basis.
Earlier this month, a similar Travel and Tourism Fair was held in Kolkata from July 12 to 14. After the Gandhinagar event, the Himachal Pradesh Directorate of Tourism and Civil Aviation in another such fair in Mumbai from January 30 to February 1, 2025.
