The Himachal government is opening liquor vends while at the same it is closing government schools, said leader of the Opposition and former CM Jai Ram Thakur.
Slamming the government, he said, on the one hand, it is talking about a de-addiction campaign, and on the other, it is ‘busy’ opening liquor vends, he said.
He said that the government, headed by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, is laying more emphasis on opening liquor vends by closing schools and colleges. Where will the state go in such a situation? He said that for the first time, we have seen such a government, which instead of working for public interest and development, is concentrating only on opening liquor vends.
He said that even after not getting the NOC from the panchayats, the government is opening contracts there. In Bilaspur, a liquor vend was opened next to an anganwadi centre.
