SHIMLA: The Directorate of Education is planning to launch a special campaign against drugs in schools and colleges of Himachal Pradesh. After the intervention of Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla, the Directorate of Education has issued instructions in this regard.
Apart from the police and health department, cooperation of local panchayats will be sought in this campaign.On behalf of the Director of Higher Education, Amarjeet Kumar Sharma, letters have been issued to all district deputy directors in this regard.
Recently, a letter was given to the Governor by the International Hindu Seva Sangh, appealing for the prevention of drug addiction in educational institutions. It was said in the letter that the rapidly spreading drug trade in the state is a matter of concern.
The Sangh has decided to go door-to-door to make people aware.To make this campaign successful, participation of educational institutions is also necessary.
Awareness should be created here with the help of police, health department and panchayat representatives. The Governor had sent this letter to the Education Department for action. Now, the Education Department has decided to run an awareness campaign against drugs in the state.
