Urges to create awareness among people about restrictions imposed in Himachal

Shimla | TNR
The Himachal director general of police has written to DGPs of neighbouring states following fresh directions issued by the State Disaster Management Authority.
The Himachal DGP asked the DGPs of neighbouring states to appraise themselves of the restrictions imposed by the Himachal government during Shravan Ashtami Navratri so as to avoid crowds of devotees at places of worship.
His letter also mentioned that devotees would not be allowed to enter these places of worship without a Covid negative RT-PCR report or Covid vaccination certificate for both doses.
Devotees throng Himachal
Devotees usually gather in large numbers during this festival period at Bilaspur, Kangra and Una in Himachal.
However, last year saw the crowds in these places of worship due to the Covid situation in the country.
Crowds are expected to gather this year and hence police deployment is expected to be heavy at all these points. The Himachal DGP has instructed all superintendents of police to stay alert.
Instructions for SPs
All SPs have been instructed to check RT-PCR reports and vaccination certificates of devotees entering the state at borders and check posts.
Those entering Himachal with fake covid certificates will be strictly dealt with. The DGP has also asked devotees from within Himachal to observe Covid appropriate behaviour during worship in temples.
