Mandi: Himachal Pradesh Director General of Police Sanjay Kundu said that he intended to make Himachal Police the best police force in the country.
The DGP was speaking on the occasion of the passing out parade of 145 ex-servicemen and 18 police band staff at 3rd Batallion, Pandoh, on Saturday.
The DGP congratulated the pass outs for completing the basic training and welcomed them to the Himachal Police family. He impressed upon them to remember the oath throughout the service and work with honesty and dedication to come up to the expectations of people and the police organisation.
Kundu asserted that he has made tremendous efforts in bringing constructive changes in the police department ever since he took over the office of the DGP of the HP Police.
He asserted that it has been a matter of great pride that for the past three years, Himachal Police has retained the top position in Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS) in the country. CCTNS is a project under the Indian government for creating comprehensive and integrated systems for effective policing through e-governance. The system includes a nationwide online tracking system by integrating more than 14000 police stations across the country.
He lauded the efforts put in by Bhagat Singh Thakur, Commandant 3rd Battalion, Pandoh, and his team of dedicated instructors and staff for molding and shaping the passing out trainees adding that the 3rd Battalion would be made a model battalion in the coming years.
Bhagat Singh said that during the training the focus was on enabling the trainees to face any kind of challenge not only physically but mentally too and make them understand their responsibilities towards the service of the people and for the nation.
He said apart from professional police training they have been given comprehensive training in various aspects of policing, such as physical training, weapon handling, law and order, investigation techniques, and community policing.
Earlier Kundu inspected the passing out parade ceremony and took the salute from the police.
