Dharamshala: Congress leader from Dharamshala, Vijay Indra Karn, has accused BJP’s candidate from Dharamshala, Sudhir Sharma, of violating the model code of conduct and has sent a complaint letter to the Chief Electoral Officer.
Karn alleged that Sharma, who recently joined BJP after leaving Congress, is accompanied by security personnel during his election campaign. This, Karn said, was unnecessary in the peaceful area of Dharamshala. Karn argued that by flaunting heavy security, Sharma is projecting himself as a VIP, potentially influencing voters in his favour, which violates the model code of conduct.
Karn urged the Chief Electoral Officer to remove the security cover provided to Sharma to prevent any confusion among voters regarding his status as a VIP and a prominent BJP candidate.
