DHARAMSHALA: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu was scheduled to visit the Dharamshala on Thursday (May 23, 2024) to campaign for the June 1 Assembly bypoll and the Kangra Lok Sabha election.

The visit was proposed for the election campaign of Congress candidate Devendra Jaggi from Dharamshala. During the tour, three programmes of the Chief Minister were scheduled under Dharamshala Assembly and events were also planned on May 24. Congress candidate Jaggi had even shared this information on his social media platform.

But information from sources revealed that changes have been being made in the Chief Minister’s tour and instead of 3 pm, he will be reaching Dharamshala at 5 pm. On May 24, the CM has scheduled his events in other Assembly segments, which too will witness bypoll on June 1. It is expected that the Chief Minister may visit Spiti for campaign on May 24.

Along with this, there have been changes in the Chief Minister’s programme for the Gagret Assembly constituency on May 24, which was confirmed by Gagret Assembly candidate Rakesh Kalia himself on his social media handle. With this, the programme of Gagret Assembly has now been proposed on May 27. On the other hand, due to frequent changes in the Chief Minister’s visit, the workers and supporters of the Congress are in a state of confusion.

Talking about the BJP, its election campaign is in full swing and on Friday (May 24), a rally of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is proposed in Mandi and Nahan. In these two rallies, the Prime Minister will campaign for party candidates of Mandi and Shimla parliamentary constituencies. Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to visit Dharamshala on May 27.
