SHIMLA: After having recovered from illness at AIIMS-Delhi, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu will return to Shimla on Saturday (November 11, 2023).
According to information, the Chief Minister will be reaching Shimla around 12.30 pm by a government helicopter. CM Sukhu will celebrate Diwali with his family at his official residence Oak Over. However, due to his recent illness, it is not yet clear whether the Chief Minister will meet the general public and party leaders and workers during Diwali and in the coming days.
The Chief Minister was to return to Shimla on Friday, but the helicopter could not take off from Delhi due to inclement weather. The Chief Minister was admitted to AIIMS-Delhi for the treatment of pancreatitis. Sources said all his tests were normal now and he was handling important work from AIIMS itself. The doctors, however, have advised him rest.
CM Sukhu had fallen ill on October 25. Due to an infection in the pancreas, he was first rushed to IGMC where he underwent treatment for a day. The next morning, he was referred to AIIMS-Delhi. He was first kept in the ICU at AIIMS-Delhi and after improvement in his health, he was shifted to a private VVIP ward from where the Chief Minister gave necessary instructions to ministers and officials regarding government work.
Principal media adviser to the Chief Minister, Naresh Chauhan, had on Thursday confirmed that CM Sukhu would come to Shimla on Friday after being discharged from AIIMS. “After coming to Shimla, he will start his work as per the guidelines of the doctors,” Chauhan had said.
