The Himachal Pradesh cabinet is scheduled to meet on Thursday (August 8, 2024) at the Secretariat in Shimla under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and is expected to result in several significant decisions.
Among the key issues on the agenda, the cabinet is likely to approve the filling of vacant posts across various departments. Additionally, discussions will focus on relief and rehabilitation efforts following the cloudburst incidents during the monsoon season. The government may announce a relief package to address the losses caused by these disasters.
In the aftermath of last year’s disaster, the government provided a special package for a fixed period. This year, similar decisions, such as offering housing facilities to the victims, are anticipated.
Furthermore, the cabinet will review the report from the cabinet sub-committee concerning irregularities in the Himcare scheme and consider various improvements in the Health Department’s schemes. This report will be presented for discussion during the meeting.
