Shimla: The ongoing legal battle over the Wild Flower Hall hotel unfolded today in the High Court, with both sides presenting their arguments.
The bench, headed by Justice Satyan Vaid, reserved judgment after hearing representations from the Oberoi Group’s review petition and the government’s application for a warrant of possession.
The courtroom witnessed an extensive debate on the matter today, with Dhruv Mehta, representing the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation, presenting arguments via video conferencing from Delhi.
The government stated its intention to operate the hotel, emphasizing its significance as an asset of the people of the state.
The Wild Flower Hall has been under the Oberoi Group’s possession for the past 25 years, and the state government asserts its right to reclaim and manage the property, considering it a substantial pending lease owed to the people of Himachal.
Senior Additional Advocate General A.N. Mehta confirmed that discussions in court today centered around the Oberoi Group’s review petition and the government’s warrant of possession. The court has reserved its decision on these matters for future deliberation.
