The Meteorological Department issued an orange alert in nine districts of Himachal Pradesh for Saturday.
Heavy rain has been forecast in all these districts. The districts where an alert has been issued include Chamba, Kangra, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Mandi, Shimla, Sirmaur, Solan, and Una.
Due to rains in the last 24 hours, the water supply has stopped at 300 main drinking water sources of the Jal Shakti Department. People living in these areas are not getting water supply.
Vehicular traffic is blocked on 21 roads. Of these, a maximum of 16 roads are blocked in the Hamirpur zone, while 35 transformers are lying closed.
So far, a loss of Rs 352 crore has been incurred in the monsoon season. The Public Works Department has suffered the most. The Department has so far estimated a loss of Rs 193.20 crore, while the Jal Shakti Department has suffered a loss of Rs 127.20 crore so far. Loss of Rs 26.22 crore to the Horticulture Department, Rs 92 lakh to the Electricity Board and Rs 38 lakh to the Urban Development Department is estimated.
43 deaths in 13 days
It started raining in the state on June 24. In the last 13 days, 43 people have lost their lives. Ten houses have been completely destroyed and 51 houses have been partially damaged.
