Local business leaders picked up hammers and nails and jumped in to help build two homes in Santa Ana.
Habitat for Humanity of Orange County brought out leaders from the business community who donate to Habitat OC. In the process, they get to see hands-on where their donation is going and gain a sense of community pride.
The two houses are on Lucy Street in the French Park section of Santa Ana.

The houses will be awarded in August to two families that have been selected but not yet publicly announced.
Charles Antis, the founder of Antis Roofing and a Habitat OC board member, has donated nearly 100 roofs.
“Our company exists to keep families safe and dry,” he said. “How can we say that we’re doing so when there are so many families that don’t have that basic need of shelter, the safety of the home that allows their family to have that magic to thrive?”
Habitat OC has been building homes in Orange County for 35 years.
In that time, it has finished 237 homes, according to Chris Georgieff, the chief marketing and communications officer.
Over the next two years, Habitat OC hopes to have 100 additional homes in development.
