IGMC had declared ‘langar’ illegal
Earlier, the IGMC administration had closed down the ‘langar’ which had been operating for the past seven years, as illegal. The government and the IGMC had come in for a lot of flak following its closure. The move also drew a severe criticism from people on social media as the ‘langar’ provided meals thrice a day for over 3000 people. The Youth Congress had protested against the closure by holding demonstrations at the Ridge and outside the IGMC.
