Glaring security breach at Jwalamukhi hospital as patient gets robbed in ward

Two youths were arrested after they stole a patient’s car and cash at Civil Hospital, Jwalamukhi. 

The accused Naveen alias Bitta (21) and Suraj Kumar (23) are residents of ward no 1, Jwalamukhi.  

The victim, Shravan Kumar, resident of Dadasiba, had gone to the hospital for treatment of stones when the two robbed his purse containing Rs 8000 and car keys at night. However, both men were caught within a few hours.


Police recover car On receiving information at the Jwalamukhi police station, SHO Jeet Singh and his team acted swiftly and recovered the car from Adhe di Hatti and arrested both men.

The incident was recorded on the CCTV installed in the hospital. The SHO said that a case has been registered on the complaint.


Lapses in hospital’s security system Serious questions have been raised about the security system at the Jwalamukhi civil hospital after the incident.

Questions arose on how the two men could breach security and carry out the theft in the patients’ ward. Vigilance of the personnel posted on night duty have also been questioned.
