MANDI: In a remarkable tale of determination and courage, Suman Kumari, hailing from the serene village of Kutle in Kotli sub-division of Mandi district in Himachal Pradesh, has etched her name in the annals of history as India’s first female sniper in the Border Security Force (BSF). What began as a childhood aspiration has now transformed into a groundbreaking achievement, inspiring countless individuals across the nation.
Suman’s unwavering commitment to her dream saw her embark on a rigorous journey within the BSF ranks, where she stood out amidst a team of 56 men. Enduring eight weeks of arduous training, she emerged triumphant, claiming the prestigious title of ‘Sniper Instructor Grade’, a testament to her exceptional skills and dedication.
