In the ongoing 2nd Cross Country Paragliding Pre-World Cup in the Billing Valley of Kangra district, Himachal Pradesh, France has made a remarkable breakthrough during the fifth task. On Wednesday, French pilot Karting Lomein secured the top spot with an impressive score of 1000 points. Switzerland’s Michael Sharry closely followed in second place with 952 points, and India’s Vijay Soni secured the third position with 936.52 points.
In the Indian category, Vijay Soni dominated with 936 points, followed by Ranjeet Singh with 930 points in second place, and Sunil Rawat with 919 points securing the third position.
In the women’s category, France’s pilot Kaloi Fefarnes led with 613.3 points, Switzerland’s Veer Sheri followed in second place with 545.7 points, and America’s Jenny O’Neil secured the third position with 515.2 points.
Today, the pilots were given a challenging task covering approximately 72 kilometers from Billing to Jatingri, Jogindernagar, Palampur, and finally, the landing site. The closing ceremony of this thrilling event will take place on Thursday, November 2nd, at the landing site in Chaugan. The Chief Guest for the closing ceremony will be Mr. Raghuvir Singh Bali, the Chairman of the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Board, who will present awards to the overall winners in both international and Indian categories for male and female pilots.
