Former Himachal Pradesh Chief Secretary Shamsher Singh Kanwar passed away on Wednesday in Shimla at the age of 80 following a brief illness.
Kanwar had served the state in various administrative positions and was seen as a dedicated officer widely respected for his understanding of policy issues and action-oriented approach. He belonged to Theog in Shimla district.
Expressing grief over the demise, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said Kanwar Shamsher Singh’s contributions and services would be fondly remembered by the people for years to come. The Chief Minister prayed to the Almighty to give peace to the departed soul and strength to the bereaved family members to bear this irreparable loss.
