Mandi: Former Chief Minister Jairam Thakur, addressing a BJP rally in Mandi on Aakrosh Diwas, hinted at Operation Lotus, emphasizing the unpredictable nature of politics. Thakur urged party workers to be prepared, citing discontent among ministers and MLAs with the state government, which, according to him, faces challenges of its own making.
Thakur criticized the current Chief Minister Sukhu for what he deemed misguided decisions in his pursuit of power. Drawing parallels with other states, he warned that Himachal Pradesh’s government might meet a fate similar to Jharkhand and Rajasthan.
In a statement, Thakur accused Sukhu of poor decision-making driven by ambition, cautioning against the fleeting nature of perceived success. He also took issue with the “new era” hoardings, emphasizing the impermanence of such claims.
BJP State President Dr. Rajeev Bindal joined the criticism, characterizing the state government as a “bundle of lies.” Bindal highlighted the absence of Priyanka Gandhi from the government’s celebration, despite CM Sukhu’s pleas, as an indicator of the government’s credibility issues.
The Aakrosh Diwas rally saw the participation of various BJP MLAs and district leaders, further adding to the collective dissent against the state government.
