Dharamshala: The Congress legislative meeting kicked off at 8:00 PM on Monday in a discreet venue near Khaniyara village. All attention was fixed on Congress MLAs Sudhir Sharma and Rajinder Rana, conspicuous by their absence even after Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu’s arrival.
As the meeting commenced, discussions arose among the onlookers at the hotel complex about Sharma and Rana’s notable absence. While there were a few other MLAs, including Sunder Singh Thakur and DK Bhutto, not present in the meeting hall when the CM arrived, the focus of speculation centered on Rana and Sudhir. It was learnt that Sunder Singh Thakur was in China and Bhutto couldn’t attend meet due death of his family member.
Party leaders present at the meeting attempted to reassure everyone, suggesting that delays might be due to unforeseen circumstances. However, outside the meeting hall, discussions persisted, especially concerning Sudhir Sharma, whose residence was in close proximity to the hotel, yet he failed to arrive.
Efforts to contact the absent leaders proved futile, leaving questions unanswered. Congress has decided to target BJP on disaster issue only by highlighting a lack of support of the opposition leaders for the people of this state and doing politics at the time of disaster.
Simultaneously, the BJP held its legislative meeting at a private hotel, commencing at 7:00 PM. All BJP MLAs actively participated in this meeting. Prior to this, BJP leaders organized a “Jan Akrosh Rally,” expressing discontent over the alleged failures of the Congress government.
