Dharamshala: Kangra Deputy Commissioner Hemraj Bairwa emphasized the importance of exercising caution amid rising incidents of fraud through mobile calls. He urged citizens to be vigilant, especially booth-level officials, regarding such calls. Bairwa revealed that some booth-level officials have received calls related to fraud, where they were questioned about voter data and the booth-level app. Additionally, all booth-level officials were urged not to share personal banking details such as passwords and OTPs with anyone, especially strangers.
He mentioned that the announcement of the Lok Sabha elections 2024 was made by the Election Commission of India on March 16, 2024. Officials/employees are receiving information about the elections and other related activities through mobile calls. All officials/employees related to the elections were urged not to share information on unknown phone numbers and especially not to share OTP/passwords. They were advised to exercise caution and immediately inform the police and file an FIR if such fraudulent calls are received and to safeguard themselves from deception.
