Only government school students eligible
Shimla: The Samagra Shiksha and Higher Education Department is once again stepping up to support meritorious students from government schools in Himachal Pradesh through the Swarna Jayanti Vidyarthi Anushikshan Yojana.
Under this initiative, free coaching for competitive exams like NEET and JEE is being provided in collaboration with Avanti Fellows.
This year, the department is set to conduct an offline entrance test on September 25 to select students from classes 11 and 12 for this coaching programme. The test will be held across 171 schools in the state between 10 am and 1 pm.
Coaching via online medium
So far, approximately 21,837 students have registered for the free online coaching sessions. To ensure no deserving student misses out, registration IDs have also been issued to those who could not register online, allowing them to participate in the upcoming test.
This initiative has become a beacon of hope for students from economically weaker sections.
Several students have achieved success
The free coaching provided through this scheme has already helped a significant number of government school students achieve success in JEE and NEET, leading them to brighter futures.
To further motivate students, the department plans to organise a state-level programme to honour those who have successfully cleared JEE and NEET through this coaching. The event will serve as an inspiration for other students in government schools, encouraging them to aim higher and take advantage of the resources available to them.
