Amitabh Bachchan urged to withdraw from pan masala ad by anti-tobacco organisation


The National Organisation for Tobacco Eradication has urged Amitabh Bachchan to withdraw from an advertisement campaign promoting pan masala, saying that the move would help wean away youngsters from getting addicted to tobacco. Its president Dr Shekhar Salkar said in an open letter that Bachchan should support the cause of anti-tobacco movement.


Jr NTR spends ₹17 lakh for number plate for his Lamborghini worth over ₹3crore


Actor Jr NTR, who recently purchased a Lamborghini Urus Graphite Capsule limited edition SUV, has reportedly paid ₹17 lakh for a special number plate with the numbers ‘9999’ on it. His car’s number plate was recently registered at Khairatabad RTO office in Hyderabad, said reports. The SUV reportedly costs more than ₹3 crore.


Paul Rudd’s ‘Ghostbusters: Afterlife’ to release on November 19


Sony Pictures India announced the release date of ‘Ghostbusters: Afterlife’. The film, starring Paul Rudd, Finn Wolfhard, Carrie Coon, Sigourney Weaver and Mckenna Grace, will release in Indian theatres on November 19. The upcoming Jason Reitman directorial is a sequel to Ivan Reitman’s ‘Ghostbusters II’, which released in 1989.


Shah Rukh Khan’s name included in Indian Sign Language dictionary


Shah Rukh Khan’s name is among the 10,000 words included in the Indian Sign Language (ISL) dictionary, launched by PM Narendra Modi. Some of the other words included are ‘carpooling’ and ‘online banking’. In order to describe his name, one has to hold the fingers of right hand like a gun and tap above the heart twice, as per reports.

LGBT+ short film ‘Sheer Qorma’ declared Best Short Film at IIFFB


LGBT+ short film ‘Sheer Qorma’ starring Shabana Azmi, Divya Dutta, and Swara Bhasker won in the Best Short Film category at the India International Film Festival Boston 2021. Veteran actress Shabana Azmi won the award for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her portrayal. The short film has won 13 international awards since its premiere in June.


Fahadh Faasil’s ‘Joji’ wins Best International Feature Film at SIFF

Fahadh Faasil’s Malayalam film ‘Joji’ recently bagged the Best International Feature Film Award at the Swedish International Film Festival (SIFF) 2021. The actor took to social media on Thursday to share the news. Directed by Dileesh Pothan, the crime drama also starred Basil Joseph, Unnimaya Prasad, Baburaj and Shammi Thilakan, among others.
