Empowering Youth for a Brighter Tomorrow: Sanjay Awasthi’s Encouraging Words at Children’s Sports Competition

Solan: In a stirring address at the closing ceremony of a children’s sports competition for those under 19 years of age, Chief Parliamentary Secretary Sanjay Awasthi emphasized the pivotal role of youth in shaping the nation’s future. Acknowledging them as responsible citizens of tomorrow, Awasthi urged the young generation to pursue their goals with unwavering focus and determination.

“The youth hold the key to our nation’s destiny. To be strong and well-educated is their prerogative in order to make significant contributions to our country’s progress,” remarked Awasthi. He highlighted the importance of setting clear objectives and advancing in life with purpose, asserting that morally upright and resolute youth are instrumental in leading the way forward.

Urging youngsters to steer clear of the scourge of drugs, Awasthi implored them to be vigilant about their peers’ well-being. He advocated for regular participation in sports, citing its multifaceted benefits. “Engaging in sports not only fosters mental and physical fortitude but also serves as a potent deterrent against substance abuse. Healthy competition in sports is the crucible through which our youth can forge a path toward their aspirations,” he declared.

In a significant move towards providing accessible higher education, Awasthi announced the introduction of M.A. History and M.A. English classes at Government College, Arki, commencing this academic session. The State Government’s notification to this effect has already been issued.

Highlighting the government’s ongoing commitment to education, Awasthi disclosed plans for the forthcoming Rajiv Gandhi Day Boarding School in Arki constituency. This institution promises to revolutionize the delivery of quality education at the doorstep of students.

In a generous gesture, Awasthi allocated Rs 21 thousand from his discretionary fund to the school management committee. He also took a moment to commend the competition winners.

The event saw spirited competition, with Government Senior Secondary School, Arki emerging as the victors in Kabaddi, while Government Senior Secondary School, Ghanagughat secured the top spot in volleyball. NPS Dhundan triumphed in Kho-Kho, and B.L Kunihar claimed the first position in badminton. Adarsh Government Senior Secondary School, Dhundan clinched the wrestling championship.

Panchayat head of local Gram Panchayat Dhundan, Shakuntala Sharma, expressed gratitude to the chief guest and other dignitaries for their presence and support.

The occasion was attended by esteemed guests including Block Congress Committee Arki President Satish Kashyap, Block Congress Committee Arki Treasurer Roshan Verma, Deputy Head of Gram Panchayat Dhundan Madan Lal, Youth Congress Arki Executive President Hemant Verma, former Arki Divisional President Ramesh Thakur, members of Sainik League Darla, Principal Roshan Lal, President of Baghal Land Losers Society Jagdish Thakur, Principal of Government Senior Secondary School Dhundan Sartaj Singh Rathore, Ritu Thakur, Kapil Thakur, Sohan Lal, along with a host of students and teachers.

The event marked a significant step towards nurturing the potential of the youth, instilling in them the values of determination, education, and healthy competition, essential for a prosperous future.
