A driver was found dead inside a truck owned by private company Grover Transport, having its office at Veerta, adjacent to Kangra in Himachal Pradesh, on Monday (April 22, 2024) morning.
Kush Grover, the proprietor of Grover Transport, said the truck driver had returned with the vehicle to the transport company around 3 am, seemingly without any indication of distress or concern.
However, as dawn broke and the routine operations commenced, the absence of the truck driver from the bustling activity caught the attention of Grover and his team. Following standard procedure, the drivers were summoned to commence unloading goods from the trucks. To their dismay, there was no sign of movement or activity within the truck assigned to the deceased driver.
Upon inspection, Grover opened the window of the truck, only to find the driver lying motionless inside. He alerted the Kangra police, who promptly arrived at the scene. The authorities informed the driver’s family and the body was taken to Tanda Medical College for post-mortem examination.
A death has led to shock in the area. The police have launched an investigation and have been probing if there was any foul play.
